“For this months postcard I was seeking to get that ‘other worldly’ feeling you can get sometimes by using collage, an almost surreal quality. I wanted to continue the idea, as with my August postcard for otte, of bathers and that wonderful feeling you get when continuing to swim in the sea after high summer. I’d also been looking at Keith Vaughan, not only his paintings and the way he depicts the figure in an almost abstracted way, but his black-and-white photographs too. The figures, even though tiny, appear as if they are miniature sculptures and are ambiguous in their gender.” - Henrietta Dubrey, September 2026.
