Biography

Álvaro Tamarit is an artist, sculptor and teacher specialising in furniture and functional objects. He creates pieces inspired by nature, often with a subtle sense of play. Teaching is central to his practice; he is passionate about helping others engage with art, understand the environment and develop a deeper appreciation for the planet. Originally from Spain, he brings his native cultural influence into his practice, while also drawing inspiration from French, English, Italian and Indian traditions, each of which has informed his personal journey.

In 2023, Alvaro received the award at the III Eco-Sculpture Contest at the University of Social Sciences of Valencia for Savia Sabia (Wise Sap), a book exchange sculpture celebrating the cultural importance of trees, installed for one year at the Universitat de Valencia.

A lifelong learner, Alvaro continually refines his craft, seeking to create work that balances function with beauty. His mission is simple: to introduce art into the everyday.
