Biography
Based in Falmouth, Rachel draws inspiration from the rhythms and textures of the sea. Influenced by aquatic life and the ever-changing Cornish coastline, her work captures a sense of fluidity, movement, and quiet immersion.
Working with the historic cyanotype process, she embraces its inherent unpredictability; enjoying and exploring the alchemy of light, chemistry, and time to create richly layered, one-of-a-kind works. This experimental approach allows each piece to evolve organically, often revealing unexpected textures and tonal variations.
Alongside these marine influences, Rachel integrates expressive nude drawings into her practice. Themes of form, vulnerability, and emotion emerge through this interplay, adding depth and intimacy to this body of work.
