Emma Williams
Emma Williams (b. 1968, Chipping Sodbury) studied textile design at Huddersfield University, where a strong grounding in craftsmanship and material exploration shaped her creative thinking. After working as a freelance textile designer, she moved into full-time painting in 1997.
Her background in printed textiles is evident in her bold use of colour and flattened perspective. Emma paints still lifes and coastal scenes inspired by the Cornish shoreline, often framing harbours and bright blue waters through glimpses of interior spaces, inviting us gently into the scene.
